Can I use a photo for the CD print?
Yes, but thermal printing is not photo-realistic. Your print will look "grainy" - similar to a photo in newsprint. Skin colors are poor, and shades/halftones are difficult to reproduce. Areas of white or very light colors will appear as silver, this is because lighter colors appear as transparent and the shiny silver surface of the cd will show in those areas. On the positive side, photos converted to black & white look pretty cool on a disc.
What kind of labels do you use?
There is no label - all printing is done thermally, direct to the disc surface. It won't smudge, peel, bubble, fade or rub off. It's a professional print, similar to what you'd find in retail stores.
Can I have an all-black background on the CD?
Yes, but it will (in most cases) cost a little more since this process often involves printing the disc twice to assure good coverage.
What's turnaround time like?
It depends on the job and quantity needed. If you do not require inserts and trayliners, orders up to 500 can be duped, printed and assembled in 1-2 days. If you require inserts and trayliners, it may take up to 5 days. It is best to inquire at the time of your order.
How should I submit my graphics?
There is a $35.00 setup fee on all orders unless you supply your graphics on our Photoshop templates. Allow .5" bleed on inside of any printed inserts. Allow 1/8" bleed from center hub of disc shape and 1/16" from outer perimeter. Leave layers preserved for final alignment. If all this is seems confusing then you should take our word that it's worth it to pay the $35.00 setup fee which covers all graphics layout, scanning or other pre-press work necessary to complete your order ;-)
If you're cool with paying the setup fee, drop us an email and we'll help you get things done with no further hair-pulling.

What about inserts and traycards?
You may supply these in any standard graphics format, such as jpg, bmp, tif or gif. You may also supply them as psd. Allow .5" bleed on inner panel(s) of the front insert. All work must be at 300 dpi. Our templates are at 300 dpi by default.
Can I use the program I have that is for making cd-labels?
No. There are many programs out there that make cd labeling easy for the common man, unfortunately, they all tend to use different file formats when saving and are not always compatible with professional printing processes. Photoshop is the graphics-industry standard for design and this is what we use. By using our pre-formatted Photoshop templates, you'll save time and money. If you do not wish to get or learn Photoshop, it is well worth the one-time $35.00 setup fee to have everything done right the first time.
